I miss the simple times. The times where all I needed in life was a hug and a kiss from mom and dad. The times where all I needed in the world was to be with the ones who loved me. I didn’t need to think about how I looked, dressed, or acted because you were with the people who loved me unconditionally, even if I was wearing a polka dot dress with leopard leggings and tennis shoes. Now, all I think about is how I don’t measure up to today’s definition of what’s enough and what isn’t. I crave something much more than a hug from my parents. I miss the way I used to not care about anything. I miss the simplicity of my younger life.
